It is often said that mood and motivation can make a very big difference in the achievement of individuals be it at the work place or in any activity that people take part in.
The attitude of the sales person always influences the client's opinion on a product. If a sales person comes to you to sell a product and he/she looks very demoralized, it is very much likely that you will not buy from the demoralized sales person and you may most probably buy the very same product from a jovial and seemingly excited sales person. It would be very useless to tell a sales person to stay motivated while on the job since motivation is a feeling just like any other feeling that an individual experiences. Since feelings are inspired by the prevailing circumstances. The best way to ensure that the sales person stays constantly motivated during training is to introduce training methods that draws the attention of the trainee to the subject matter at all times.
One of the methods that can ensure the constant motivation of the sales trainees on the subject matter is the use of exciting training methods and material such as live videos and relevant samples that give the trainee an opportunity to personalize the incident in relation to him or her. The other method that should ensure the continued motivation of the trainee sales person is to make the training sessions short and precise so that the lectures do not get too long and boring to the extent of the trainees straying from the subject matter. The timing of the lessons is also important, holding the lessons in the afternoons when people are already exhausted and are looking forward to the end of the lessons than to the matter at hand. Lastly, a method that certainly evokes full participation and motivation for the sales people is the introduction of incentives. Incentives excite almost any body regardless of the matter at hand; it would therefore earn you better results if you have incentives such as rewards for people who emerge top in simple quizzes in the course of the training. The rewards must not necessarily be expensive to evoke the attention of the trainees.
