7th Grade Science Fair

School systems have spent years and many resources developing the curriculum for their students. While the pupils simply show up to class and participate in the lessons, they do not realize that these lessons have received a great deal of thought and preparation. The experts in learning and education who have devoted their professional lives to determining the correct curriculum for the correct grade level have conducted this thorough preparation. For example, in seventh grade science, students will begin the in depth study of the structures, functions and processes of cells. The students will then take this knowledge to the 7th grade science fair. A 7th grade science fair would be incomplete if there were no demonstrations of the critical concept learned by students of this grade level.

The 7th grade science fair is likely to be populated by students striving to expression their knowledge of cells. The structures and functions of cells occupy a large portion of the curriculum in 7th grade science. Animal and plant cells are both examined as the students learn the concepts and theories from the inside out. Since we cannot see these life building structures with the naked eye, it is always a challenge to represent them in ways that are meaningful to the students. It is then the responsibility of the students who participate in the 7th grade science fair to take the information they have learned and apply it to their own expressions. This can be done with two dimensional computer images or three-dimensional models. While students use their creative abilities for this task, it is important for them to creatively view the larger processes and functions of cells.

A 7th grade science fair is the opportunity for the brightest students to make representations of plant and animal cells in a way that is unique to the 7th grade science fair arena. Students will always be competing with projects that have come before as the standards for grading and evaluating the projects increases each year. This is to say, one of the most important ingredients that the students will bring to the 7th grade science fair is their imagination. The challenge is to find a way to express understanding that no other student has done before. Some of the best ideas for this are found at 7th grade science fairs.
