Probability Problems
Probability problems by definition are the branch of mathematics that studies the eventful likelihood of an occurrence of random events in order to predict the behavior of definitive systems. Therefore, the theory of probability would be an exact branch of the mathematics field. This deductive and logical approach is a science that studies the uncertain quantities related to the random events. A good example of this type of probability problem is the eventful birth of a baby.
The many months leading to the birth of a baby will find the happy couple with many decisions to make all based on the birth of the child. How to decorate the nursery for the arrival of the baby is one question. The choice of decorative colors leaves room for many questions too because at this point the couple is clueless if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl. What this does bring out is the probability of whether the baby is going to be a boy or girl. In terms of a probability problem the birth of the baby being a female or male is statistically a fifty-fifty probability henceforth a probability problem.
Probability problems introduced into the classroom to students of all ages would have a little fun with this. Most mathematical problems are very cut and dry and it takes so much to keep the attention level high. Teachers and professors can attest to this because when they focus on writing up their individual lesson planners it causes most of them to pause. The art of figuring the proper path to guide their students in the right direction and maintain the student's level of interest can sometimes be very difficult. Students do lose interest very quickly. When this happens the teacher has a difficult time trying to regain the student's confidence and coerce the student into learning.
Another interesting scenario is when a couple is interested in searching for a new automobile. A husband and wife being interested in the same type of vehicle are very rare. The possibility the husband and the wife want the automobile in the same color are very rare too. This is one of many questions posed through the probability problems that the student's will discuss.
