Probability Games
Probability is one of those mathematical areas that receives very little attention comparing to algebra I, algebra II, calculus I, calculus II, calculus III, geometry, and trigonometry. However, it is still a subject that plays a role in the student's life every day. Keeping this in mind there are probability games that most students will find fascination and hours of enjoyment.
One of those games is the Game of Pig. This probability games is a unique construction for two or more students interacting with each other to draw on experience and learn while they are playing. This is a game dealing with dice, but it is for all students who have an interest in mathematics and more. This is an elementary level game for students in grades three to eight.
Another elementary probability game is Two Dice Sums and this is also a game of dice for all ages from grade one through eight. What better way to enhance the learning experience then through games. Which Number Wins is another game for elementary students between grade one and grade eight. This game offers hours of fun and enjoyment while mixing in learning lessons for the students. Yet, it is another game including dice just to shake up the concentration of the students.
How Long? How Many? Is another interactive learning game for elementary students between grades three, grade five, and requires some math ability to complete and compete with the game. Yet, it is still an excellent learning experience for the students involved. Other interesting and innovative probability games are Coin Flip, Dice Roll, Key Problems, Monty Hall Puzzle, and Coin Game.
Other probability games to help enhance the mathematical education of students is bridge probabilities, coin flipping, fair coin, feller's coin-tossing constants, gambler's fallacy, gaming mathematics, Kelly criterion, lottery mathematics, mathematics of bookmaking, and poker probability. There are so many games for all grade levels that it is difficult to list all of them. The thing to remember is each one offers a specialty always keeping the students in mind when designing them.
When it comes to students and their various personalities teaching can be difficult. Introducing a level of learning experience through games is another tool that is worth the time and effort.
