Academic
Reference
The CJARL is an informal forum for the discussion of practical
issues affecting academic reference librarians. Participants have a chance to share best
practices, collaborate in the assessment of materials and procedures, and see other
academic libraries. Meeting locations are in the Central Jersey region, although
librarians from other regions are welcome. Meetings are held twice each semester and once
in the summer. |

Book
Evaluation
Administered by Neptune Township Public Library, this ongoing
program gives childrens librarians, YA librarians and school media specialists an opportunity to
examine and review new books before purchasing. At bi-monthly
meetings (see the calendar),
librarians and media specialists share reviews, exchange ideas, and pick up new books. A selection of the book reviews
will appear on our new wiki (http://www.cjrlcbookevalgroup.pbwiki.com). |

Central Jersey Interlibrary Loan
Committee (CJILL)
The purpose of the committee is to enhance members
knowledge of interlibrary loan procedures and practices, to provide networking
opportunities for interlibrary loan practitioners in the Central Jersey region, and to
promote resource sharing and document delivery throughout the region. Meetings are held
twice each year (see the CJRLC calendar)
at participating libraries or CJRLC. Membership is open to all CJRLC interlibrary loan
practitioners. |

Infolit
This committee takes on projects designed to teach library skills of all types, from
elementary school through adult. Their most important project was the Help
Pages section of our website, which provides instructions for patrons on
solving common research problems and links for librarians to various helpful resources. |

Recruiting
This committee develops programs to recruit people into the library profession.
It is responsible for the website www.becomealibrarian.org, encourages libraries to host recruiting open
houses, and creates publicity materials. The committee has attracted national attention
for its work.

SchoolGroup
This committee sponsors programs and provides a great opportunity
to meet and exchange ideas with school media specialists and other librarians involved in
youth services. Programs are generally offered after school hours and in the summer (see
the calendar),
and provide Continuing Education credits.

Technology
Group
The Technology Group is the technical advisory group to the Central
Jersey Regional Library Cooperative Executive Board. Its purpose is to educate librarians
and foster communication in the Region on issues of technology and uses of the Internet.
The group meets monthly (see the calendar)
and its meetings are open to all CJRLC members. Past programs
have included information on PC security, networking, and demonstrations of wireless
technology.
