Access I
Prerequisites:
Windows95/98/2000
Course Content: Overview
of basic concepts of relational databases and their components,
including field types and planning a new database; introduction to
the Access interface; working with databases and tables by creating
new databases, using the Table Wizard and editing field properties;
adding and deleting records, moving between fields and records,
copying and backing up tables; creating forms in Design View, with
AutoForm and by using the Form Wizard; working with data using the
Find, Filter and Sort features; using and saving Select Queries,
sorting a dynaset and using comparison operators in queries;
creating reports with the Report Wizard, customizing reports with
controls and inserting graphics; finding help in Access.

Course Content:
Introduction to the Database Wizard, switchboards, table
relationships and the Performance Analyzer; using Primary Keys,
indexes, input masks, default and required fields, and the Lookup
Function; working with forms by creating navigation controls,
command buttons, combo boxes, subforms, tab controls, multi-page
forms and form headers and footers; creating Parameter and Multiple
Parameter Queries, using functions and calculated field in queries
and creating relational queries; working with the Action Queries:
Make Table, Update, Append and Delete; creating and customizing
reports using grouping, AutoFormat, calculated controls, totals,
mailing labels and subreports; creating and storing hyperlinks in
tables and on forms, linking to Word documents and using Access to
create HTML documents.
