ACCESS

Access I
Prerequisites: Windows95/98/2000

Course Content: Overview of basic concepts of relational databases and their components, including field types and planning a new database; introduction to the Access interface; working with databases and tables by creating new databases, using the Table Wizard and editing field properties; adding and deleting records, moving between fields and records, copying and backing up tables; creating forms in Design View, with AutoForm and by using the Form Wizard; working with data using the Find, Filter and Sort features; using and saving Select Queries, sorting a dynaset and using comparison operators in queries; creating reports with the Report Wizard, customizing reports with controls and inserting graphics; finding help in Access.
Duration: Full Day Class


Access II
Prerequisites: Access I - a must!

Course Content: Introduction to the Database Wizard, switchboards, table relationships and the Performance Analyzer; using Primary Keys, indexes, input masks, default and required fields, and the Lookup Function; working with forms by creating navigation controls, command buttons, combo boxes, subforms, tab controls, multi-page forms and form headers and footers; creating Parameter and Multiple Parameter Queries, using functions and calculated field in queries and creating relational queries; working with the Action Queries: Make Table, Update, Append and Delete; creating and customizing reports using grouping, AutoFormat, calculated controls, totals, mailing labels and subreports; creating and storing hyperlinks in tables and on forms, linking to Word documents and using Access to create HTML documents.

Excel I (Basic Worksheets)
Prerequisites: Windows 95/98/2000

Course Content: Getting started, introduction to worksheets, creating a basic worksheet, working with ranges, movement techniques, using functions, moving and copying data, modifying worksheets, additional Excel features, formatting techniques, printing a worksheet, previewing, charting and appendix.

Excel II (Charting and Organizing)
Prerequisites: Excel I (Basic Worksheets)

Course Content: Creating charts, modifying a chart sheet, modifying an embedded chart, formatting a chart, auto formats, using graphic objects, advanced charting topics, sorting data, auto filter, advanced filter, data form and appendices.
Duration: Full Day Class


Excel III (Advanced)
Prerequisites: Excel I (Basic Worksheets)

Course Content: Customizing the work area, advanced formula construction, troubleshooting, multiple file linking, outlining and consolidating information, protect and display options, pivot tables and appendices.

Photoshop 7.0 Introduction
Prerequisites: Windows 95/98/2000

Course Content: In this course, you will use Adobe Photoshop to modify scanned photographs. You will use advanced tools for selecting parts of images, and will move, duplicate, and resize images. Additionally, you will use painting tools to modify images, and will perform adjustments to contrast and color balance.

Photoshop 7.0 Advanced: Artistic Effects
Prerequisites: Photoshop Introduction or equivalent knowledge

Course Content: Adobe Photoshop is a powerful tool for molding scanned images and illustrations into creative artwork. In this course, you will learn techniques for quickly creating attractive textures for backgrounds, compositing images seamlessly, simulating surface reflections and shadows, and creating effects with type. Some of the features that will be used are filters, layer masks, channel operations, blending modes, lighting effects and multi-step scripts.

Course Content: Understanding Microsoft Publisher, creating a publication, importing graphics and text, layout techniques, working with multiple pages, creating tables, formatting text, using Word Art, adding a Page Wizard object, customizing, using ready-made elements, advanced design techniques.

Course Content: Introduction to PowerPoint, beginning a presentation, working with drawing tools, templates and slide masters, graphing, enhancing your presentation, output and presentation options, adding notes, adding transitions and builds, running a slide show.

PowerPoint Advanced
Prerequisites: PowerPoint Introduction

Course Content: Presentation guidelines, creating a template, modifying a Word document, working with Word tables, linking and embedding, Microsoft Graph, creating a flow chart, additional PowerPoint features, using branching, play lists, and the PowerPoint Viewer.
