CJRLC 2008 Budget Explanation

CJRLC’s 2007-2008
Budget:

Investing in the
Future of Libraries

In 2007-2008, CJRLC will invest in Opportunities!

Whether it’s Playaways for Academics, Publics and Specials, or NoveList for Schools, NextReads, ListenNJ, or new opportunities to try the latest ways to serve customers where they are or to bring them in to you, CJRLC is always looking for innovative ways to serve our member libraries and your customers!

In 2007-2008, CJRLC will invest in Information!

We will continue to pay our share of the EBSCO databases available to all NJ Network members ($67,963 currently), as well as to subsidize Wilson Bios for all interested members. We have decided not to renew the Accunet database since it no longer seemed cost effective.

In 2007-2008, CJRLC will invest in Service!

Staff and facilities are an investment in service to our members. From discounts to delivery, from the voice on the phone to onsite visits, CJRLC exists to answer your questions and meet your needs.

In 2007-2008, CJRLC will invest in Training!

Classes in-person and online, programs at libraries or on the web, the Tech Challenge, the Tech Committee, and the SchoolGroup all provide training for our librarians and library staff.

In 2007-2008, CJRLC will invest in Communication:

From the CJRLC Update (still in paper 10 times a year), to the website, the listserv, and the blog, CJRLC helps to keep you informed without overwhelming you with noise.

In 2007-2008, CJRLC will invest in Partnerships:

Working with the other Regions, the State Library, NJLA, NJASL, VALE, HSLANJ, SLA, and ALA, CJRLC is a cooperative Cooperative!

Line items may be adjusted by the Executive Board if unforeseen circumstances, savings,                    or expenditures arise.
